"Far above our expectations !"
From the moment we arrived at The Lighthouse Ocotal , we knew that this was a truly unique property. It was my first experience of staying at a lighthouse with a kitchen space , a bedroom with a luxury furniture and a terrace where we took perfect coffee. The houses were great .They were clean and neat and tastefully decorated and had everything you could want. The kids enjoyed watching the TV and used it to play their WiFi. The views at the ocean and at the mountains were breathtaking! We didn't expect the ocean so close from the house . Sunsets and sunrises were tremendous. Always relaxing and quite. There was nobody except us ,the ocean and nature. We were glad to find everything better than in the pictures. We were in Costa Rica for 2 wks and rented a vehicle (which you should do) very easy to get around with GPS until you know area. We travelled all over by ourselves without any problems. We enjoyed the Monkey travel zip lines and snorkeling at Ocotal beach . Stores were 7 minutes by a car from this place, where we got all kind of groceries, fresh fruits . Near the stores we found a lot of the restaurants. We'd reccomend it for one or two families .

"An absolutely amazing vacation!"
This is an amazing property with amazing owners who really care! The owners even drove us to the airport to rent a car. Make sure you do rent one, you will need it and it adds so much more fun and convenience to your stay there. If there is a need to call the owners, they pick up the phone almost immediately. The views are spectacular, every room is decorated with great taste and everything is available, from an outdoor grill, flatscreen in every room to every amenity in the kitchen, living room and bathrooms. The lighthouse is beautifully decorated and when you sit there outside on the upper deck, you'll have the most fantastic day and night views, where you can hear and see the waves of the ocean roll in, absolutely peaceful! My husband and I decided to stay in the Lighthouse and our kids stayed in the main house. We enjoyed it so much, it felt like a vacation in a vacation for both of us and our kids had the freedom in the house to stay up late and watch tv whenever they wanted. Ocotal is a wonderful village on the hillsides close to the beach. Lots of local people live in that area. They're so friendly! They live the Pura Vida lifestyle, and are among the happiest people in the world, it really shows! There are nice restaurants in the area and most of them look so authentic. The area is not yet spoiled by big hotel chains or hamburger places, it's pure and beautiful. When you are there, enjoy the restaurant on Ocotal beach with fantastic views. The best diving school is also located at Ocotal beach. Go to the Monkey Farm, a group of international volunteers are working there, rescuing a lot of different animals. The monkeys are cuddly and sweet, they come sit on your shoulders and wrap their tail around your neck! Our kids were in love with them! Book this property, you will have maybe your best or one of your best vacations ever!
